High School
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced all families in Fulton County to become familiar with remote learning, at least in part. A commitment to a full-time program with remote support may be slightly different than what students have experienced in our current status. These scenarios are intended to provide parents and students considering the online, full-time school with an example of what a typical "day in the life" might look like.
Meet Armani
Armani is a 9th grade student and a competitive tennis player. His tennis matches require him to travel and he needed a flexible academic schedule to be able to fit in mid-day practice and his traveling to tournaments.

Armani logs into his courses, checks the grades on work he submitted earlier in the week, and then checks his email from his teachers. He received an email from his ELA teacher for a one on one and gets help with an ELA assignment that he will need to resubmit. |

Help Call |
Armani completes the call with his ELA teacher about an assignment he submitted. They went over the portion Armani overlooked and he will complete it today, then resubmit it for grading. |

Science- live lesson |
Armani logs into Microsoft Teams for a live lesson on the layers of skin. This interests him because as a traveling junior tennis player, he’s sunburned, and the lesson gives him better understanding of what layers get burnt and the damage it can cause. |

After attending the live lesson Armani completes the assignment using the information he just learned. |

ELA Independent lesson and assignment |
Armani begins to read a portion of Romeo and Juliet. He doesn't like love stories but this one's tragic so it's fun. As part of his assignment, he will explain the complexity of the character Romeo and why he had such a tragic end. |

Lunch |
Armani heats up a piece of cold pizza from the night before while he checks out where he can watch the entire Romeo and Juliet movie. |

Tennis |
Armani is a competitive tennis player and meets with his coach for daily practice. |
Armani’s mom drives him to practice and gets an email update from one of Armani’s teachers. It’s a friendly reminder that it’s been a while since Armani has logged into his French course. At the end of practice, she reminds him he needs to begin on the next lesson. |

Armani grabs a drink and uses the bathroom before beginning the rest of his courses. |

Math - LIVE lesson and assignment |
Math is Armani’s favorite subject so when they introduced polynomials, he got really excited. Armani knows he works best by writing his answers out, so he makes sure to grab his math notebook before beginning the quiz. Armani logs in to live class with his Math teacher. As he begins to practice his polynomial problems, he writes them out by hand, double checks his answers, and chooses the correct multiple-choice answer from the quiz. It doesn’t take him long to earn his A! |

Social Studies- Call with teacher, then Independent assignment |
Armani is preparing for a discussion-based assessment with his American Government teacher. He reviews the different branches of government and the notes he took during the live lesson earlier in the week and his notes from the digital lessons that he completed. Then he gives his teacher call to complete the discussion-based assessment. They have an engaging conversation about the judicial branch to help Armani understand its purpose and passes his DBA. Once he's finished with the call, he begins his module test. His teacher gives him the confidence to know that he'll do awesome! |

Elective: French Independent lesson |
Armani had been working hard in French last week but forgot to finish his lessons for this week. He begins reading the lesson but will need to make time to complete it tomorrow. He knows that he’s two weeks ahead in math so he will plan to use math time tomorrow to complete the French assignment. |

Armani is a week ahead but will be able to complete his entrepreneurship project tomorrow during the live lesson morning. |
